Jonathan
Hotz
Jonathan Hotz spends much of his
time painting in the hills of Vermont and amid the coastal towns of Maine. In
the last few years, he has become one of the preeminent realists in today's Northeastern
art community. A charter member of Chaparral's Plein Air Exchange, the aritst
renders compostitions of startling complexity entirely on location. His distinctive
style is marked by delicate brushwork and singular perspectives. His
career has been honored by numerous awards, most recently the 2000 Grumbacher
Gold Medal. He has also received Best of Show awards at the 1995 and 1999 Masters
in Montana invitational and Northeast regional awards at Chaparral's 1993 and
1995 Arts for the Parks shows. His work has been featured in the recently published
Gallery of Marine Art. He has presented two successful one-man shows at
Chaparral and traveled with the Plein Air Exchange to Italy in 2003. | |
