Carolyn
Meyer
Carolyn Meyer was born in Bakersfield,
California in 1959. As a grade school student in Yuma, Arizona, Ms. Meyer displayed
an early interest in artistıs materials and the natural world. Encouraged and
guided by her teachers, the young artist was exposed to a wide variety of disciplines,
including jewellery design, sculpture, ceramics, and graphic design.
Ms.
Meyer enrolled at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. An advertising
major, she continued to study fine art on an elective basis and obtained her BFA
after only three years. Upon graduation, Meyer was offered a job as Assistant
Art Director at a well known advertising agency in San Francisco. After a few
years, she went solo as a freelance Art Director and Graphic Designer with multiple
accounts, and served as co-owner of a large printing company for five years.
Following
a decade of business and traveling, Ms. Meyer returned to the Academy and received
an MFA in Painting. With teaching credentials that included the Academy and the
College of Marin, she became employed exclusively at the Academy in 1999. For
the past ten years, Ms. Meyer has pursued her unique vision as a painter, creating
vibrant, highly sought-after oils from her Bay Area studio.
