Lesley
Rich
Plein air painter Lesley Rich is
a colorist who transforms her varied subjects with lavish brush strokes and rich
color. "My paintings, even my landscapes, are more about people. Hopefully,
they are an honest glimpse into the beauty of people's lives." Lesley's
stunning compostions borrow elements from both the Impressionist and Expressionist
movements, yet they remain highly individual. Her vibrant palette and lyrical
brush work blend seamlessly to create exquisite landscape, figure, and still life
paintings.
An avid traveler who paints
in exotic places throughout the world, Lesley is never wanting for subject matter.
Whether she is on a street corner in Zanzibar or by the canals of Venice, her
oils are always at her side; the stories she tells with paint are spontaneous
and unburdened.
Lesley Rich has exhibited
in more than 30 invitational art shows around the country and is a member of the
Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts, API, Allied Artists, American Artists
Professional League, Pacific Art League and Oil Painters of America. She travelled
with Chaparral's Plein Air Exhange trip to Italy in May 2003, and received
a Best of Show award at the 2004 Masters in Montana festival.
